Uzbekistan Embassy Representatives Visit National Election Commission |

On February 20, 2025, representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea to discuss bilateral cooperation in electoral processes and technological advancements in election management.
Counselor Fakhriddin Nabiev and First Secretary Shokzad Kurbanov met with In-su Kim, Director General of the NEC’s Planning Department, to explore ways to enhance transparency in the handing out process of ballot paper and strengthen collaboration in election management, capacity building, civic education, and technological integration.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged insights on the role of technology in modern elections, particularly its potential to minimize electoral fraud and improve the integrity of the electoral process. The discussions covered the advantages and challenges associated with technological solutions, drawing from South Korea’s experience in systems using election-related machines.
Furthermore, the delegations deliberated on strategies to enhance public awareness of the importance of voting and explored opportunities for joint initiatives to promote civic engagement. The Uzbek delegation expressed keen interest in leveraging South Korea’s expertise to strengthen electoral transparency in Uzbekistan.
The visit reflects the growing cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea in fostering democratic processes and ensuring fair and transparent elections through innovation and knowledge sharing.
