The National Election Commission allocated the ordinary subsidies of the first quarter of 2014 - KRW 9.729 billion – to 4 political parties in accordance with Articles 25 & 27 of the Political Funds Act on February 14. < Ordinary subsidies of the first quarter of 2014 allocated > <Unit: KRW>
According to Article 25 of the Political Funds Act and Article 30-3 of the Political Funds Regulation, ordinary subsidies for political parties are included in a yearly budget and are equally divided and allocated on a quarterly basis. In compliance with Article 27 of the Political Funds Act, political parties holding a negotiation group in the National Assembly at the time of subsidy allocation are equally given 50% of the total amount while those with more than 5 but less than 20 seats in the National Assembly are allocated 5% of the total amount. One half of the remaining amount is allocated to political parties in proportion to the number of seats in the National Assembly gained by them and the other half of the amount is given out to political parties based on the ratio of the votes obtained by them in the previous National Assembly elections. |
