The National Election Commission discloses campaign booklets of all candidates through the NEC website http://party.nec.go.kr from May 24.

In addition, the NEC will also disclose 5 major pledges of candidates for heads of local governments.

The NEC stated it would assist voters in selecting a candidate by letting them easily check and compare/evaluate pledges and information of candidates.

The NEC has also disclosed through the NEC website 5 major policies of candidates for Si mayors/Do governors and superintendents of education since May 5 and 10 major policies of political parties and 5 major policies of each Si/Do since May 10.

In addition, the NEC runs the ‘find a candidate of my area’ page on the ‘policies and pledges promotion’ website and provides the ‘policies and pledges promotion’ mobile app to enable voters to easily access candidate information.

Meanwhile, the NEC asked the Ministry of National Defense and the National Police Agency for cooperation to enable military/police personnel who had not applied for the delivery of campaign booklets or received them due to incorrect addresses to check candidate information through the Internet in advance of voting. In particular, the NEC asked the two agencies to designate May 24 and 25 as the ‘period for checking candidate information’ during which its staff can view candidate information made public through the ‘policies and pledges promotion’ website.

Furthermore, the NEC designated a week before election day (May 28 to June 3) as the ‘period for learning about policies and pledges’ to allow voters time for comparing, evaluating and reviewing pledges and policies of political parties and candidates.
