On December 10, the NEC held a ceremony to inaugurate Deputy Secretary General Lee Jong-woo as Secretary General.

Newly inaugurated Secretary General Lee Jong-woo has been in public offices for three decades, a recognized authority in electoral management. Mr.Lee has been Deputy Secretary General since December 2008 after having served as Director-General of Secretariat of Gyeonggi-do Election Commission, Chief of Planning and Coordination Office, and Director-General of Legal Affairs, among others.  

Meanwhile, Chief of Planning and Coordination Office Moon Sang-boo has taken the office of Deputy Secretary General. His prior positions include Director of Audit & Inspection Division, Director-General of Prevention & Enforcement, Director General of Election and Chief of Planning and Coordination Office.
