Reformed overseas voting system


Overseas voting for the 20th national assembly election
Registration and application method expansion
Internet registration and application introduced –You may also register or apply through the National Election Commission homepage. 


No attachments during registration and application – Did not attach a copy of your passport or nationality identification document during the registration or application process
※Overseas voters must provide documentation required to verify nationality in order to vote
Permanent overseas voter registry introduced – Voters registered to the voter registry during the 18th presidential election are not required to apply separately
※Request a registration update if there are changes to details in the registry. Korean nationals must register during every election

Expanded voting participation
Additional polls installed –Additional polls may be installed in areas with significantly larger numbers of Korean nationals
※If the number of Korean nationals exceed 40,000 in a given diplomatic office district, 1 additional poll may be installed in a location other than the diplomatic office up to a maximum of 2 polls

Retunr home voting system introduced–Overseas electorateswho return home before the opening day of overseas voting period may register with the National Election Commission to vote at a local poll during election day
